About Red thread BAkery

Long before we became bakers, we were “The Triplets” - a trio made up of twins, Carli and Didi, and cousin, Greta. We grew up spending weeks of our summers together, romping through the pastures of our family farm, baking with our grandmother, and dreaming about the future of The Triplets. We envisioned a space we could fill with joy, experimentation, and creativity. Our adult years meant fewer summers togethers, but we were always connected by the common thread of finding adventures and experimenting. Sourdough baking has provided each of us with a way to deeply integrate ourselves into our communities.

From a small bakery in California, to a massive wood-fired oven in Vermont, to apprenticeships in the bustling streets of Barcelona, we have slowly been building a robust culture of knowledge - and the strong desire to breathe life into our childhood dream. We believe food has the power to heal and connect people, and we want to use our hometown ties to build a local food system in Chadron. Our greatest joy lies in pulling fragrant, steaming loaves from the oven and eating them, still warm, with friends - and we are so excited to now share them with you.
